If you can't bring yourself to say it ...or just looking for a different way to express your feelings, this is a very romantic way to tell your significant other how much you love him/her without saying a word. This little book is cute and fun to page through.

Average review score:

My toddler loved this!I discovered this book in the library with my first child. He was about two years old, and this was his favorite book. I must have read it to him at least ten times a day. He is now six, and has a baby brother who has discovered books too. I decided we needed a copy for him, and ordered. The book has very simple, easy to read words and concepts like "big trucks and small trucks", with lots of colorful pictures. It's an easy first reader. Joshua James Likes trucks- and so do my boys.

Lauren (Harlequin Superromance, No. 879)
Published in Paperback by Harlequin (December, 1999)
Average review score:

In Complete HarmonyLauren is the second in a series of books written about four girls who grew up on the island of Harmony, south of Cape Cod, MA. Lauren returns to Harmony 12 years after leaving in shame with her family and falls in love again with a man from her past. Their tale is similar to Romeo and Juliet, with dueling families. Lauren's restoration of an historic site is fascinating. The town and its characters are detailed and believable; Lauren and Cameron's love story is wonderfully romantic.

Joy Comes in the Morning
Published in Paperback by Bridge-Logos Publishers (August, 1900)
Another of his books, the Seed and the Sower 'called to me' from it's place on the shelf in my local bookshop. I bought it because this book was made into a film called Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence - a film I remember as disturbing and strangely attractive.
A new friend of mine mentioned Lauren's name in reference to one of her favourite books - The Hunter and the Whale.
Pretty soon I was finished Seed and the Sower and reading Lauren's seemingly autobiographical adecentures on a whaling ship as a young man.
This book largely defies description or review - once you know Lauren's work, hear his powerful voice describing evocative images, it's hard to imagine any work of his that won't be worthwhile.
To me, the strength of this work is characters - especially Peter, the storyteller. He has both the introspective nature and the wild youthful skills to become the 'Eyes' of the captain. Eventually his description of the king sperm whale arising from the ocean with a mouthful of giant squid, in the midst of an emotion ridden storm on the sea leaves me gasping for a chance to look this whale right in the eye...
